Harrison & Hetherington Carlisle
A strong trade greeted breeders at Harrison & Hetherington, Carlisle for the annual In-Lamb Ewe and Ewe Hogg sale. With 186 entries forward and buyers in from across the UK and Ireland, ewes sold to a top of £1,250 and averaged £485 on the day, up £42 on last year.
Trade was sharp from the first lot, with quality in-lamb shearlings and ewe hoggs meeting particularly strong demand. Champion-sired lots carried a premium throughout.

Report
The Society would like to thank the judges, the Harrison & Hetherington team and all breeders and buyers who supported the sale. Trade reflected continued confidence in the Border Leicester breed, particularly from commercial producers seeking halfbred females for their flocks.
The Society’s next event is the Ballymena sale on 10th January 2026 — full details on the Sales page.
